Implicit in the earning of the CCDP (Cisco Certified Design Professional) certification is that the candidates have advanced knowledge of network design for the Cisco Internetwork Infrastructure.

What are the compulsory exams to earn credit towards CCDP?

Candidates who wish to become a CCDP must pass the BCSI 642-801 exam, the BCMSN 642-811 exam and the ARCH 642-871 exam. The composite 642-891 exam can be taken in place of the BCSI 642-801 and BCMSN 642-811 exams. In preparation for these exam candidates are advised to also do the training courses Building Scalable Cisco Internetworks (BSCI), Building Cisco Multilayer Switched Networks (BCMSN) and Designing Cisco Network Service Architectures (ARCH). (Please note that these training courses are a recommendation.) This training course is available from Cisco Bootcamp.

What can be done in terms of Recertification for CCDP?

The certification validity period is three years. Certification will thus be required.

You are also permitted to take the CCDP level exams except the ARCH 642-871 exam to recertify for this Cisco certification.
